background
In 2005 I received my Bachelors of
Science in Graphic Design from
Missouri Western State University. I conducted classes
at MCE and another local center, showing others the techniques I had learned while attending the university. I came away from that office with a good deal of first hand business management experience, and the practice of good communication concerning financial accountability, media
relations, team and project meetings, and working both with and as a supervisor.
Throughout college and for several years after, I worked for
MidCity Excellence (MCE), a small learning center in St. Joseph, MO. I started
out as a volunteer, trying to do something productive
with my spare time. I convinced the university to donate some systems and
setup the first cpu lab, then developed youth oriented classes for which I
could write grants in order to acquire newer equipment as well as funding
for the marketing tools needed to promote the classes.
Afterwards, I moved to Atlanta for a few months to assist a relative. I worked as a freelance designer and continued doing some contract work with MCE. Some months later I returned to the midwest and took on my current position with AMP, Inc.
